Learn the Amar Gambit: Books, Courses, YouTube Videos

Amar Gambit Picture

The Amar Gambit is an incredibly offbeat, somewhat dubious opening for white that is sure to lead to interesting games! The Amar Gambit begins with the moves: 1. Nh3 e5 2. g3 d5 3. f4?! Bxh3 4. Bxh3 exf4. Black has won a pawn but lags a little behind in development. Meanwhile, white seeks to launch an attack by castling and exploiting the half-open f-file. The Amar Gambit has only been played in one master game in 1933 – as per the openings database – and resulted in a win for white!
